A Community Morning at SPH
On Saturday, July 18, hundreds of young players and their families came together at Sports Performance Hub (SPH) Regional Soccer Park in Homestead, Florida (Miami-Dade County) for a free soccer clinic hosted by Miami FC, the professional club within the SPH ecosystem. The morning was built around three things at the heart of SPH's purpose: player development, learning, and community.
The clinic opened with remarks from SPH and Miami FC leadership before participants took the field for an interactive training experience led by Miami FC Academy coaches, Head Coach Gastón Maddoni, and Miami FC First Team players. Throughout the morning, participants rotated through a series of skill stations focused on technical development and fundamental soccer skills. Miami FC First Team players joined the Academy coaches at every station — demonstrating drills, encouraging participants, and working directly with each group — giving every child the chance to learn alongside professional players in a fun and supportive environment.
After the training sessions, families had the opportunity to meet the players, collect autographs, take photos, and spend time with the team, creating lasting memories both on and off the field.
The clinic reflects a shared commitment to the Homestead community: creating meaningful opportunities for young players to learn from professional athletes while strengthening the local connections that will grow alongside SPH. As part of SPH, Miami FC is the community's live, present-day link to the game, and mornings like this one offer an early glimpse of the role SPH will play in the life of Homestead.
"It was incredible to see so many families who want to be a part of what we're building in Homestead," said Firmiano Ribeiro, Miami FC Academy Director. "Events like these are an important part of our mission to inspire the next generation of players while continuing to grow the game in the Homestead community."
The morning was made even more memorable thanks to the support of Miami FC's partners, whose on-site activations kept players and families cool, refreshed, and engaged throughout the day.

Registration is now open for the Miami FC Liceo Fútbol Program, powered by SPH, in Homestead, where young players of all experience levels can develop their skills in a fun, structured environment beginning this fall. The program focuses on technical development, confidence, teamwork, and a lifelong love of the game, while offering a clear pathway within the Miami FC Academy and toward Miami FC, the professional pathway within the SPH ecosystem.
